Secret Santa Appeal gets new branding

Bradford District’s Junior Chamber, JCI Bradford is launching this year’s Secret Santa Appeal on Saturday 26th November 2016 at 11am in the Kirkgate Shopping Centre and with the continued support of Pulse1 and Pulse 2 radio station.   Last year was a record-breaking year for the appeal because over 4,500 gifts were donated by the wonderful people who live and work in the Bradford District for disadvantaged families and children.

This year’s appeal will be attended by The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor, Geoff Reid at 12noon to help launch the appeal which ends on Sunday 11th December.

Companies, schools and organisations of all sizes are encouraged to help and we have support from many organisations already.  In addition, this year sees the introduction of new branding to strengthen the identity of this wonderful annual appeal.ssa-2016-poster-single-04

JCI Bradford’s Community Director, Michelle Pemberton said “Our appeal appears to be growing to a new level, increasing donations and supporting more and more families and children.    Christmas for most of us is a time to celebrate, have a break and indulge ourselves, but for many families and children Christmas is just another day in their poverty ridden lives. We can only hope that poverty in the UK is eventually overcome but in the meantime the Secret Santa Appeal will continue in its endeavours to help those less fortunate.”

Catherine Riley, Centre Manager of the Kirkgate Shopping Centre, Bradford has once again very kindly agreed to sponsor the appeal and one of the first schools to get on board with the project is Bradford Grammar School who have been key supporters and for over 15 years.

JCI Bradford’s Past President, Philip Cavalier-Lumley said “JCI Bradford has grown over the last few years and with a new team of bright and enthusiastic members it is wonderful to see young people taking on projects like this to develop their skills and experiences.  The appeal has enjoyed amazing support from the local community over the years and I must thank each and every adult and child who have put their hand in their pocket, possibly gone without something just to buy a child a gift.”

Any individual, company, school or organisation can help by getting in touch with Michelle Pemberton via email community@jcibradford.org.uk and ask about running a mini-appeal.
